About Fatz

The statement necklace is highly in demand this season, but no-one makes it quite like Project Catwalk designer Fatz Kassim. So desirable are her exclusive religious themed pieces that she's causing a holy stampede among the nation's fashion disciples. Manchester based fashion designer Fatz, is the founder and former creative director of high fashion brand ZuZu Couture but this is her first foray into jewellery and accessories.

Says Fatz: "I designed my own necklace with some beautiful brooches and some vintage pieces I picked up on my travels and wherever I went women were stopping me and asking where I got it and if I'd make one for them. I was knocked-out by the response, so I decided to design and create my own collection.

I source vintage items, medals and charms from around the world, so each piece has a history all of its own. We all have old rings and brooches that have been passed down from loved ones which we probably never wear because they don't look quite right. I can incorporate those into a necklace so that treasured keepsake can be worn close to the heart. It's a beautiful tribute and a constant reminder of the person we loved but lost. "

She launched her exclusive bespoke jewellery and accessories collection at London Fashion Week at Opal Lounge London on 17th September. 'Save Me' is the name of the collection shown during London Fashion Week. Incorporated into the theme are a range of bespoke leather necklets, cuffs and bags lined with hand- printed organic cotton. The whole collection of necklets, cuffs and bags are all heavily embellished with a range of religious icon charms, gems, vintage treasures, reclaimed rhinestones and watch components. The leather necklets speak for themselves, heavily adorned with a variety of vintage embellishment. The chunky cuffs incorporate an assortment of hand stitched vintage religious charms into an open zip detail with zip teeth edges fastened together with ornate detailed clasps.

The statement one-off Jesus crucifix figurines are decorated with reclaimed 9ct, 18ct and costume gold chains incorporating different chains, lengths and links. Customers are able to have their own special keepsakes worked into their own personal design that can be treasured forever and passed throughout generations. Each and every piece is individually handcrafted and nurtured to create a simply unique collection of jewellery.
